About
Atlas of loss, 2026
Medium : clay pigments, debris and

Atlas of Loss is an ongoing multimedia (painting + installation +
documentary film) series responding to the severe coastal erosion at Uchila Beach near Mangalore, Karnataka where the sea’s gradual
encroachment has displaced entire fishing communities and erased
homes, livelihoods, and histories. Created with local clay, house debris, and coconut ash collected from the site, the works carry the physical traces of a changing landscape. Rather than documenting a place, the series maps disappearance : exploring loss, memory, and the fragile relationship between land and those who inhabit it.
