A shrine for the seeds /बीजमंदिर serves as a de facto ritual space, transforming an idea into a sacred, larger-than-life presence.
This shrine, dedicated to seeds and seed savers, is enveloped in a billowing curtain of repurposed sarees, symbolizing a mother’s protection. Inspired by the traditional saree compound used in rural fields to safeguard crops, this ever-shifting, ethereal structure embraces impermanence.
At its heart stands an icon crafted by a seed saver, embodying the essence of preservation and renewal. Visitors are invited to take home seed bombs as Prasaad, carrying the shrine’s blessing forward, continuing the cycle of growth and stewardship.
